Glasgow crash woman dies

AN ELDERLY woman died in a crash in Glasgow yesterday.

The 84-year-old, and the 82-year-old male driver, were taken to the city's Western Infirmary after the accident in Milngavie Road, Bearsden, near the Allander Sports Centre, at about 10:45am. The woman died soon afterwards.

The pensioners were travelling in a Volkswagon Polo when they were involved in the crash with a Mazda RX-8. Police said the driver of the Mazda was uninjured but very shaken.

Police are asking any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with information, to come forward.
