Glasgow beats Edinburgh in fake bake spending

Glasgow has been named the new capital of fake tanning in the UK with city beating Edinburgh in terms of expenditure of beauty products and fake tanning.

Sales in fake tan are on the up in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

While the city is known for wet weather, according to a study by a beauty website, BeautyFlash, Glasweigans spend more on fake tan than any other city in the UK.

In Glasgow, more than £3,500 was spent on fake tan alone, a rise of 40% from the previous year.

Edinburgh was named second in the UK with spending of just over £1,600, with Aberdeen making the top three across the UK.

Glasgow and Edinburgh also topped beauty spending according to the research conducted by the site with Edinburgh once again finishing second behind Glasgow.
