Glasgow 2014: Man charged over baton grab attempt
A MAN has appeared in court over an attempt to steal the Queen’s Baton during the Commonwealth Games relay in Kilmarnock at the weekend.
David Robert Gartland, 21, was charged with attempted theft over the incident, which took place on Portland Road on Saturday.
Gartland made no plea or declaration when brought before the judge at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday.
