Glasgow 2014: 18ft-tall ‘Big G’ sculpture unveiled

ORGANISERS of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games have unveiled an 18-foot-tall sculpture of the Games’ logo, which is as heavy as an African elephant and taller than a double-decker bus.

The structure has been erected in the city’s George Square as preparations continue ahead of the Games in July.

More than 2,000 plants and over 30 coloured spotlights feature in the landscaping around the enormous structure.
