Give plants some welly

GARDENERS who want to give an unusual touch to their planting can take a "quirky container" to plant at a free workshop at Dobbies garden centre in Lasswade on 8 April.

Organisers suggest that participants bring items like used wellies or an old sink and experts will demonstrate how to plant fresh herbs and salad.

The event begins at 6pm.
