Girls' cards are marked

PUPILS at St George's School for Girls have been celebrating their achievements in this year's SQA exams.

A total of 51 per cent of all those who sat Highers received As, exceeding the national average by more than half.

Out of the pupils who sat advanced highers, 99 per cent passed with grades A-C.

Anne Everest, head at St George's, said: "The grades achieved across the school are outstanding."

Future head girl Rosanna Heward, who received three As, added: "It's brilliant to see that all our hard work paid off."
