Girl robbed in underpass

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old girl was assaulted and robbed in broad daylight.

The victim was walking through the underpass at the junction of Calder Road and Wester Hailes Road on Monday at around 11.30am when a teenage male grabbed hold of her and stole her handbag and mobile phone.

The suspect is described as white, in his late teens, 5ft 7in tall, with dark hair, skinny build, and unshaven. He was wearing a khaki hooded top.
