Girl recalls freezer terror

A LITTLE girl wept in court as she recalled how she was allegedly held against her will in a kitchen freezer.

The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claimed Stuart Kitt, 33, lifted her into a household appliance causing her to suffer burns and bruises to various parts of her body.

Giving evidence by a CCTV link, she told Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday that Kitt assaulted her when she was just four years old at an address in the city in October 2007.

The child – now aged eight – was giving evidence on the second day of the trial of Kitt, whose address was given in court as being a prisoner of HMP Edinburgh.

Kitt has lodged a special defence of incrimination alleging that the child’s mother – who also can’t be identified for legal reasons – was the person who actually assaulted the girl.
