Girl, 13, attacked by man with knife

A TEENAGE girl has been left shaken after she was pushed to the ground at knifepoint.

The 13-year old was approached by a man, described as having protruding eyes, rotten teeth and a gaunt face, in Edinburgh on Tuesday, but struggled free and ran off.

She was confronted at the corner of Ransome Gardens and Rannoch Terrace, Clermiston, around 8:45pm.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "Fortunately the young girl was not injured in this incident, but she has been left understandably shaken as a result of this.

"We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, to contact police.

"In addition, we would be keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the description of the suspect."

The man is white, between 20 and 30, and 6ft.
