Gillian feels the impact of safety lesson

Gillian Carnie was feeling the full effect of a sudden stop on the seat-belt sled at Ocean Terminal.

She was one of several pupils from Trinity Academy helping Lothian and Borders Police and the City of Edinburgh Council launch the first ever road safety weekend in the Capital.

The 'Don't be a Fool, be Cool on the Road' event was aimed at raising awareness of the risks and responsibilities associated with driving through interactive learning and experiences.

A number of stalls were set up on the bottom floor of the centre.
