Giant quiz raises £14k

Thousands of pounds have been raised for St Columba's Hospice by a giant pub quiz.

Edinburgh's Businesswomen's Club held the event - believed to have been the world's biggest pub quiz - at the Corn Exchange last month, raising 14500 for charity. The event saw 99 teams and almost 600 people compete for a 1000 prize.

President Caroline Buchan said: "We have smashed all previous event attendance and fundraising targets we have ever set ourselves, and this shows what great support the charity has."
