Getting set for their close-ups

BBC drama and comedy director Graham Russell will be hosting a TV acting workshop at Telford College on Saturday.

He has been involved in BBC Scotland's drama and comedy output for the past ten years, from audience handling to writing, operating cameras, producing and directing.

On the day of the workshop he will be taking attendees through the requirements of acting for the camera from a director's perspective.

The performing arts curriculum manager at the college, Winifred Jamieson, said: "This will be an exciting interactive workshop for our students to develop their skills as professional actors, and help them gain more knowledge about TV techniques and the business of television from the point of view of the people who do the casting and filming."
