Get bids in for cash pot

GROUPS in West Lothian are to be invited to bid for a share in a £680,000 cash pot which has accumulated in a Landfill Communities Fund.

The fund allows landfill operators to offset a percentage of landfill tax and give a proportion of it to not-for-profit organisations which deliver local benefits to the general public, biodiversity or the environment.

LandTrust, an environmental body which is responsible for administering the fund, will invite bids for the cash for eligible projects from next month.
