George Graham moves up to top job at Northern Constabulary

THE deputy chief constable of Dumfries and Galloway is to take over Scotland's biggest beat next year.

George Graham will succeed Ian Latimer in the top job at Northern Constabulary when the latter retires in the spring.

Mr Graham, who joined the Dumfries and Galloway force in 1982, has been its No 2 since 2006.

Mr Latimer announced in May that he was to leave Northern Constabulary after a decade in the post.
