Gean shoots rapids at 92

A DAREDEVIL pensioner has celebrated her 92nd birthday by shooting rapids in a dinghy.

Gean Hodsdon, who has had two knee replacements, celebrated her birthday in style by taking to the water at Aberfeldy.

She only settled on her whitewater adventure after doctors dissuaded her from skydiving.

Gean, a retired Edinburgh University botany department worker who lives in Linlithgow, said: “Everyone seemed to enjoy it. We all got fitted up with safety gear – fat chance of anything happening to you with all that on.”
