‘Gassing’ threat to German teenager

POLICE are investigating claims that a German schoolgirl, living in Scotland, was targeted for online racial abuse after being branded a Nazi and told she should be “sent to the gas chambers”.

The investigation has been launched by Grampian Police following allegations that Franzisca Karl, 14, a pupil at Peterhead Academy in Aberdeenshire, was the subject of abuse posted on a social networking site.

Her parents Claudia and Michael, who live in the village of Boddam, are trying to have their daughter moved to another secondary in the area. Franzisca’s sister, Victoria, 16, now a student at Banff and Buchan College, was attacked four years ago while a pupil at the same school. Her attacker was expelled.

Grampian Police said: “We have received a complaint and an investigation is being carried out.”
