Gas line blast rocks major US city

Minneapolis was rocked by a natural gas line explosion, authorities said last night, but there were no known injuries.

Assistant fire chief Cherie Penn said people were evacuated from the area in the south of the city - a mix of houses and industrial buildings - as a precautionary measure. The gas was then shut off.
