Gardens abuzz in East Lothian
WILDFLOWERS have been planted across parks in East Lothian in a bid to make the region’s attractions more bee-friendly.
Andrew Hogarth, area amenity officer, said: “It’s all about growing a bigger variety of plants and shrubs so that whether the weather is too wet, or too hot and dry, there will always be something colourful to look at.”
He added: “At the same time, this provides more habitats and food for wildlife.”
Different types of wildflower meadow can now be found at Prestonpans, Port Seton, Tranent, Haddington, Drem and Dunbar.
