Gardeners in wonderland as 35,000 descend on Ingliston

MORE than 35,000 visitors are expected to descend on the Royal Highland Centre this weekend for Gardening Scotland's largest ever event.

The biggest date in the horticultural calendar features 14 outdoor gardens at Ingliston and the largest plant sale in Scotland.

The theme of this year's colourful Living Garden is Alice in Wonderland.

Highlights of the three-day event, which kicked off this morning, include the Floral Hall, the centre piece of the show, the 14 show gardens and the Pallet Garden, which will show off the artistic creations of hundreds of youngsters.

The Demonstration Kitchen will offer food tips and the Big Back Garden includes a play area.
