Garden skills to blossom

BOSSES at the Royal Botanic Garden have launched a new apprenticeship scheme for green-fingered enthusiasts.

The modern apprenticeship in horticulture launches this summer, aiming to provide participants with the opportunity to gain practical experience and knowledge based on operations at the Botanics.

On-the-job training and mentoring will focus on practical skills to carry out real tasks.

Each apprentice will also attend Oatridge College, where they will study towards an SVQ Level 2 in amenity horticulture.
