Garden fillip for charity

HOMELESS charity Cyrenians is set for a funding boost for its community garden project behind the Royal Edinburgh hospital.

Up to 30 gardens are being created at the Morningside hospital for local people, community groups and patients after NHS Lothian agreed to set aside land.

Now Cyrenians is set to receive 4,900 from the South Central Neighbourhood Partnership to fund a project coordinator, portable toilet and office, notice board and bike rack.

A final decision on the funding was set to be made by the partnership at a meeting today.
