Garden centre to lend hand

COMMUNITY groups are being offered a helping hand by Dobbies Garden Centre at Lasswade.

The centre's Here We Grow campaign offers to provide equipment and assistance to help local groups establish their own gardens.

Schools, charities and community groups are being encouraged to come forward and see how staff can help.

General manager Simon Martin said:

"It also aims to show people that gardening can be a fun, inexpensive and an easy way to stay healthy."

He added: "We hope that Here We Grow will inspire more people in Edinburgh to get growing."
