Garden centre gains support

A CONTENTIOUS planning bid to build a large garden centre on the fringes of Dunbar has been supported by a majority of community councillors polled at the group's meeting.

A recent ad hoc vote on the controversial proposal revealed that seven out of nine members were in favour of approving the 2,443 square metre complex to be sited on Spott Road.

The results of the garden centre vote were two votes in favour, five in favour but "with reservations", and two against.
