Garage boss hails first aid hero for help

THE manager of a garage near to where a young man was stabbed has thanked a member of the public for carrying out first aid.

Steven Juner, owner of the Gulf garage on Restalrig Road, said that a middle-aged man had come to the rescue of a 24-year-old man who was attacked nearby on Sunday at around 8.15pm.

Staff and motorists helped the injured man inside and the unnamed member of the public worked to stem the bleeding using clean rags.

Yesterday, it was reported that a group of men in a red car may have been responsible for the attack, however police are now searching for a single individual who fled the scene in a silver hatchback.

A police spokesman added: "We are treating this extremely seriously and are keen to speak to anyone with information that can assist with our enquiries."
