'Gang' hunt after assault

Police are appealing for information after a 25-year-old man was assaulted by a group of four men.

A police spokesperson said: "An investigation is under way after a man was injured in a disturbance in a property in Piersfield Grove at around 2am on Friday morning."

The spokesperson added: "Inquiries are at an early stage, and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to get in touch. Anyone with information should contact the police on 0131-311 3131 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
