Gallery staff are left out of the picture

STAFF at the National Galleries of Scotland were banned from watching television because the organisation forgot to update its TV Licence.

Workers at the Dean Gallery, Belford Road and The Mound complex were told they could not watch television in the staff rooms because the licence had expired two months ago.

Today, a spokesperson for the National Galleries of Scotland said: "Due to an administrative oversight, the television licences for the Dean Gallery and National Gallery of Scotland had not been renewed by the beginning of this month.

"Staff were asked to refrain from watching television in the mess areas, but the new licences are now in place."
