Funding cuts 'not unfair'

COUNCIL leader Jenny Dawe today conceded that the Capital has not been handed an unfair funding deal by the Scottish Government.

Funding for the city council will reduce by 3.1 per cent in 2011-12, which is higher than the national average 2.6 per cent fall.

Cllr Dawe said she was "disappointed" with the extent of the funding cut, but added: "We do understand that, technically, it has been worked out correctly."
