Fund just the ticket for bus passengers

BUS passengers in West Lothian will be aided by the introduction of real-time travel information as part of a £133,000 European grant.

Commuters will be able to monitor bus times via electronic signs at bus stops, online and using their mobile phones.

The windfall is part of a 14.3 million funding boost for Scotland's tourism sector announced by Finance Secretary John Swinney. It includes cash from the European Regional Development Fund for VisitScotland to provide support to tourism businesses and promote attractions.

Mr Swinney said: "European funding is a central element of our Economic Recovery Plan. Scotland has rising employment, falling unemployment, and this package will build on improving economic conditions."
