Full Baby P story 'yet to be told'

SACKED social services chief Sharon Shoesmith yesterday spoke of her distress over the death of Baby Peter as she warned that the "whole story" had not yet been told.

The former head of Haringey social services said some elements of the media had given the wrong impression that she was not sorry or distressed by the death of the 17-month-old boy, who died at the hands of his mother Tracey Connelly, her lover Steven Barker and their lodger Jason Owen.in 2007.

Ms Shoesmith said social workers had faced the most hostile public reaction ever seen in the UK in relation to the case.
