Friends back grieving husband fund

MORE friends of the bereaved husband whose wife was shot dead in her native America have pledged to provide funds to support him.

The News revealed yesterday that boxing coach Tommy Ross had offered to cover the full £4000 cost of Kelly Fallon’s funeral.

Ms Fallon, who married Tam Hill of Meadowbank in 2009, was gunned down in a botched robbery in a bar in Denver, Colorado, on October 17.

Mr Hill flew to the US to bury his wife, whose funeral took place on Thursday.

An appeal was launched to cover the funeral costs following the tragedy, prompting Mr Ross to come forward with his offer.

But he today revealed that even more friends of Mr Hill had also pledged to offer financial support.

He said: “The four grand from me is there, and plenty of other people now want to help and have come forward as well.

“They both had a lot of friends and they all want to do their bit financially.”

Ms Fallon, 44, originally from California, was forced to return to the US to sort out visa issues, but had a meeting with immigration officials scheduled for next month when it was hoped that the issues would be resolved.

She moved to Meadowbank following her wedding to Mr Hill, before she went back to the US earlier this year.
