Free talk on Danish art

A FREE lecture about the Golden Age of Danish painting is to be held at the National Gallery of Scotland

The lecture, on Tuesday, July 20, will focus on the painting of Christen Kobke, complementing the exhibition of his work at the National Galleries. It will also make reference to the painting of his tutor, Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, and Constantin Hansen, as well as the sculpture of Bertil Thorwaldsen, and the intellectual climate of Copenhagen at the time.

It is the first in a series of three lectures by Dr Jonathan Blackwood, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Fine Art, Dundee, and will start at 12.45pm.
