Fraud gang hunted after robbing conference delegates

FRAUD squad detectives are hunting a gang of organised criminals who are targeting conference delegates in a complex high-value scam.

Four victims have already been defrauded of 10,000 after their identities and bank cards were stolen at three four-star hotels in the Capital.

The gang reportedly wear sharp suits to blend into the crowd before stealing bank cards and other information in the victims' wallets.

They later contact them posing as investigators at the bank's fraud department and obtain enough information, including pin numbers, to withdraw large sums of money.
