France: Fine for driver's veil ruled invalid

A FRENCH court has annulled a fine given to a woman driver who wore an Islamic face veil.

Traffic police in Nantes fined the woman in April, saying she did not have a clear field of vision. The 24 fine drew widespread attention as the nation debated the place of Islamic veils in France.
