Framing city of the past

A COLLECTION of paintings of Georgian Edinburgh is to go up for auction.

John Ewbank's 33 original watercolours show the Capital from a range of perspectives and will go under the hammer on August 16 and Bonham's annual Scottish Sale.

Chris Brickley, head of paintings at Bonham's in Edinburgh, said: "These delicate and minutely-observed works show his talent."

The set is estimated to go for between 15,000 and 20,000.
