Four-minute vampire movie buries the competition

A FILM telling the story of a blood-thirsty vampire’s pursuit of his congenial host has swept the board at an awards ceremony.

Coffin Up, a four-minute silent movie produced by city filmmaker Nick Forrest, won a string of prizes at the Edinburgh 48 Hour Film Project.

The competition gives teams two days to write, shoot, edit and produce a short film, with the winning entry shown at the Filmapalooza festival in Los Angeles.

Coffin Up won six awards, including Best Film, Best Actor for Colin Moncrieff and The Jim Poole Award, which means it will be screened at the Cameo ahead of main features for a month.

Sam Goldblatt, the 48 Hour Film Project’s Edinburgh organiser, said: “Coffin Up is funny, short, and utterly charming.”
