Four in court over takeaway death

FOUR teenage boys appeared on petition at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday following the death of 40-year-old takeaway delivery driver Simon San in the Lochend area of the city last Wednesday.

A 16-year-old and a 15-year- old were charged with culpable homicide. They, along with another 16-year-old, and a 14-year-old, were also charged with robbery.

The youths appeared separately in private before Sheriff Deirdre MacNeill, QC.

No plea or declaration was made on their behalf and the case was continued for further inquiry. The four were all remanded in custody.
