Four homes hit by fire in the Lothians

A 60-YEAR-old man suffered "light burns" and smoke inhalation in a blaze in Loganlea Loan – one of four fire-hit homes in the Lothians last night.

The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance following the first-floor fire that started at around 6.44am this morning. Firefighters were still battling the flames at 8am.

Meanwhile, in Haddington two properties caught light in separate incidents within minutes of each other.

Finally at 2.46am, a 50-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary following a ground-floor house fire in Danderhall.
