Four charged over delivery driver murder

Four teenagers were due in court today charged with the murder of delivery driver Simon San.

One of the group arrested yesterday is just 14, with another 15 years old and two 16.

Mr San, 40, was allegedly attacked walking from his car in Lochend Avenue last Wednesday. He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with a suspected brain injury and died on Thursday morning.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Blair said: "I would like to thank the public for the strong response to our appeals for information. Naturally we remain keen to speak to anyone who can assist our inquiries."

In a statement released by police at the weekend, Mr San's family said: "Simon was a shy, hard-working and non-indulgent man. He would often prioritise others over himself.

"He always believed in the passive way of life and never resorted to any sort of violence."
