Four charged after joint drugs bust

FOUR men were arrested and charged with drug dealing charges after heroin with a street value of £80,000 was recovered by police in Edinburgh.

Two men, aged 40 and 44 were arrested at addresses in Stenhouse and Gorgie and one man aged 23 was arrested at an address in Kelty in Fife. A 37-year-old man was also detained in his vehicle on the Edinburgh city bypass.

One kilogramme of heroin, worth 80,000, was found at the Gorgie address, while another kilo of the drug was recovered in Fife.

All those arrested were charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and were due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.

The arrests were made on Monday as part of a joint investigation by the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) and Fife Constabulary.
