Foul-mouthed care boss is suspended

A CARE home manager accused of foul-mouthed tirades against staff in an old people’s home has been suspended from nursing.

Antoinette Galloway, 42, was also alleged to have allowed her Spanish boyfriend to enter the Pentland Hill Care Home, Gylemuir Road, to help look after the residents. She denied her former boyfriend had attended to residents but admitted allowing him to enter the home to speak with a resident who had lived in Gibraltar.

The panel at the Nursing and Midwifery Council said: “Taking account of Mrs Galloway’s current level of insight, the public interest can be sufficiently served by imposing a suspension order for a period of 12 months.

“This will send out the necessary message to the public, the profession and to Mrs Galloway about the unacceptability of her misconduct and the seriousness of this matter.”
