Forth Road Bridge set for weekend delays
MOTORISTS planning to use the Forth Road Bridge this weekend have been warned to expect major delays ahead of preparatory work for a cable inspection.
Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in both directions from midnight to 9.30am tomorrow and, depending on progress, further restrictions may be required from midnight to 10.30am on Sunday.
Queues are expected to build up after 8.30am tomorrow and after 9.30am on Sunday but should gradually clear once restrictions are lifted.
Barry Colford, bridges manager for the Forth Bridges Unit, said: “These restrictions are necessary for safety while steel beams are erected on the main cable high above the carriageway.”
