Fort Kinnaird plans on show

Proposals for a £30 million investment at Fort Kinnaird will go on display next week.

Next Tuesday's exhibition, situated in a temporary building at the centre of the park, will show how the vacant land, formerly occupied by the cinema and bowling alley, is likely to be developed.

Local residents and shoppers will be able to discuss the plans with the project team.

If council planners approve the expansion, space will be used to provide a children's play area for the benefit of shoppers and a new mezzanine area will be built to allow existing retailers to expand.

Developers have also pledged to improve the pedestrian link between the two parts of Fort Kinnaird - Fort Kinnaird and The Fort. Up to 500 new jobs could be created at the site if the development goes ahead.
