Forestry staff stage jobs axe protest

HUNDREDS of workers were protesting outside the headquarters if the Forestry Commission in Corstorphine yesterday, after learning that their jobs are at risk due to government cuts.

The Forestry Commission has announced that up to 100 jobs are to go at its headquarters.

The city's economic development leader Tom Buchanan has ordered talks with the Commission to ensure the jobs that will be left after the cuts remain in Edinburgh.
