Forest is more enchanting than ever

TICKET sales for the award-winning Enchanted Forest sound-and-light show in Perthshire have broken all box-office records.

The event was first staged in 2002 by the Forestry Commission to attract new visitors to the Hermitage Woodlands and boost out-of-season tourism in the area.

The show has since moved to the Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s Explorers Garden under the management of the Highland Perthshire Community Interest Group.

This year’s 23-night run is due to end on Friday, and the organisers say it has already attracted more than 24,000 visitors for the first time since its move to Pitlochry.

Eddie Thomson, chairman of the Highland Perthshire Area Community Interest Company, said this year had seen “unprecedented demand” with the box office working around the clock.
