Forces mass for war games in Scotland

INTERNATIONAL armed forces are gathering in Scotland for a mass "war games" training exercise this week.

Royal Navy, US, Dutch and Norwegian warships along with Nato air crews and ground troops are to take part in Exercise Joint Warrior. The scenario involves three sovereign nations, disputed territory, terrorist movements and drugs piracy.

Earlier this month, the RAF said US, Canadian and French maritime patrol aircraft would be flying out of RAF Kinloss. Six US jets from RAF Lakenheath and three Blackhawk helicopters, along with Falcon and Hawk jets were also to operate from the station.

The Ministry of Defence advised of warships and submarines in the Clyde, the Sea of Hebrides, the Little Minch and Loch Eribol.
