Football team a game changer for charity

A LOCAL football team has joined forces with an MSP in backing the name-change of a depression charity.

New Edinburgh Southern MSP Jim Eadie teamed up with Liberton Utd as part of an awareness campaign for the new Action on Depression Group. It has been formed from the Depression Alliance charity, and it is hoped the rebranding will help it extend its work.

Mr Eadie said: "Depression is often described as the syndrome of the 21st century.

"It has become one of the most widespread illnesses of our time. I'm delighted that Liberton Utd youth football club has decided to sponsor the Action On Depression logo on their football strips.

"The idea is to spread the message among young people watching the games and make them aware of depression."
