Football star is fined for speeding

Former Glasgow Rangers footballer Peter Lovenkrands has avoided a driving ban after he was caught speeding at 60mph in a 30mph zone.

The Newcastle United striker, who was caught near the club's training ground, was fined 670 and ordered to pay 30 costs with a 15 victim surcharge at North Tyneside magistrates court yesterday.
