Football fans face charges

DOZENS of Slovenian football fans have appeared in court following an alleged disturbance in the centre of Edinburgh.

The 30 men aged between 17 and 34 were charged with breach of the peace following an incident at the city's Canongate on Thursday evening.

Police were called to the area after trouble was reported close to the Pancho Villa restaurant at about 6.30pm.

All the men were believed to be in the city for the Europa League match between Hibs and NK Maribor at Easter Road.

All the men made no plea and they were granted bail.
