Food lovers get set for a fiesta

A TASTE of Spain complete with flamenco dancers and a giant paella is being held in Edinburgh.

The free family event, taking place on The Mound on July 16 and 17, is designed to give residents the chance to sample Spanish life.

Airline Jet2.com will be on-hand with a chance for visitors to win flights to Spain.

There will be numerous tastings available, including a giant paella for more than 1,000 people cooked on the spot and almendrados and liquors from Galicia.

The Balearic Islands, Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza will also be present and guests will have an opportunity to sample Hierbas, Ibiza's famous liqueur, whilst Gran Canaria will be offering visitors a sunny photo opportunity with digital backgrounds featuring the island's dramatic landscapes.

There will be plenty of entertainment over the weekend with live music and performances from many of the regions.

'Radio Cos' will be representing the Celtic traditions of Galicia, with a new modern twist, while visitors to The Basque Country stand will be entertained by a vanguard-fusion performance from the region.
