Flood fears ease as river levels drop

RIVER levels were beginning to return to normal yesterday after a weekend of torrential rain and melting snow caused flooding in a number of areas.

All the severe flood warnings were withdrawn, but two flood warnings remain in force for Perthshire - one for the River Tay from Kenmore to Dunkeld and the other for the River Tummel downstream of the Pitlochry dam to Ballinluig.
